Huge Shout Out

Council wants to acknowledge the people/businesses that gave so generously to make our new basketball court a reality at Loney’s Point this past summer.

Thanks again, the kids have all been enjoying it and it will continue to be used for years to come!

Cypress Paving Ltd.  *   Holly Beattie   *   Scott & Dolly Gilroy   *   The McRitchie Family   *   Veroba’s Family Restaurant

Council would also like to thank Sask Promo for doing such a great job on the custom backboard displaying all these names for the basketball net.

Memorial Benches

The Village has 2 benches located in Sand Point that could be sponsored as a memorial bench.  The cost is $1,200 per bench then you would have the option to get a custom plaque designed for installation.  If anyone is interested, please contact the office for further details.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

The AED has been relocated to Loney’s Point boat launch until freeze up.  This is for public use but only to be used in case of emergency.

Please note that there are also ones available located inside the Community Centre at the Resort Village of Sun Valley as well as inside the workshop at the Resort Village of North Grove.  Please contact a first responder or council member to gain access to these ones.

Garbage Burning

Council is requesting that no household garbage is burned in burning barrels or firepits as there are garbage and recycling bins available for use throughout the Village.  Thank you for your consideration of your neighbours.

Sask Energy Gas Line Update

Sask Energy is now accepting applications for new gas line installations in the Village with the exception of the retired area around Loney’s Ave.  Please go to www.saskenergy.com and apply online under residential resort applications.  All questions are to be directed to Sask Energy.

PERMITS REQUIRED

Please take note that permits are required for almost everything done within the Village whether it be building or excavating.   Please check with the office before beginning any construction projects to get all the necessary paperwork and approvals in place first.  There may be some cases where it is not needed but we would prefer to have the heads up about it.   This will also eliminate neighbors and council members asking if a permit is in place when they see construction taking place.  Everything must go to a council meeting for approval which are held monthly so please plan ahead well in advance of your project start date.  No approvals will be given prior to a meeting and there may be fines implemented for not complying and starting without an approval first.
