The regular scheduled council meeting has been moved from November 16 to Tuesday, November 23.
There will be a large green Mr. Bin located at each shop by September 24 but please do not dump trees, brush, grass clippings or leaves in these bins.
Council has decided to cancel the annual community BBQ which was originally set for September 6.
Due to receiving over an inch of rain today, the fire restrictions have been lifted effective August 20, 2021.
We still ask that you always have a water source available and never leave your fire unattended.
Thank you to everyone for keeping our resort safe.
The maintenance personnel are putting the docks in at Loney’s Point today. Residents do not require a launch pass. All other users must buy a daily or seasonal use pass from the office or put money in the locked box on site and one will be mailed out to you.
Regular garbage pickup will be weekly starting Tuesday, April 27 until after Thanksgiving.
Please note that the red Loraas bins are for household garbage only. We will be getting a few green Mr. Bin’s out starting this week and they will be located at each quonset. Please be considerate of others when filling the bins, as they are for ALL residents. Don’t fill them up with leaves and branches as these can be composted in your yard. Recyclable items like tires can be taken to Quality Tire in Moose Jaw and any metal can be taken to Five Star Steel in Moose Jaw. Please do not leave large items beside the bins and if they are full, wait until an empty bin shows up.
If you are doing any type of construction, you must obtain your own bin on your property.
Complete your #2020census online today.
Every liveable dwelling in South Lake received a Census form. If this is just your secondary address, you still need to complete the census form online for your lake address. Information collected by the census is used by the Resort Village of South Lake to plan and advocate for our community. A variety of funding and access to programming available to the municipality is based off results from the census which affects infrastructure, recreation, education, businesses and more.
We need every citizen counted!
By filling out your census questionnaire, you help shape your community and support important decision making that affects all Canadians.
Overnight ice shack parking is permitted in launch parking lots between March 15 and March 31 ONLY.
Seasonal/Daily launch fees now apply for using Loney’s Point and Sand Point launch sites to access the ice. Launch passes are valid from May until March of the following year.
The Resort Village of South Lake assumes no liability concerning the condition of the ice or the launch ramps, “USE AT OWN RISK”.
Ice shacks shall be removed from parking lots by March 31. Any shacks that are left in the parking lots after March 31 will be towed at owners risk and expense.
Council is requesting that no household garbage is burned in burning barrels or firepits as there are garbage and recycling bins available for use throughout the Village. Thank you for your consideration of your neighbours.
Please take note that the use of all non-registered vehicles on the streets within the Village is illegal. You can be ticketed by the RCMP under the Traffic Safety Act. Anyone using them is doing so at their own risk. Any complaints regarding them should be directed to the RCMP.
