Council is requesting that no household garbage is burned in burning barrels or firepits as there are garbage and recycling bins available for use throughout the Village. Thank you for your consideration of your neighbours.

Shop & Walk/Drive
When: September 5, 2020
Time: 9:00 am to 12:00/1:00 pm
Due to the cancellation of our annual barbecue, we’ve decided to host a new event. Residents can sell their wares while still practicing the government’s rules for Covid 19.
It will work like this. You set up a table at the edge of your property and price your items. It can include anything from garage sale items, baking, home preservatives, free items, etc.
If you like, you can comment on Resort Village of South Lake residents facebook page with your address and you can also list a few items that will be for sale.
Good luck and happy shopping

Sask Energy Gas Line Update
Sask Energy is now accepting applications for new gas line installations in the Village with the exception of the retired area around Loney’s Ave. Please go to www.saskenergy.com and apply online under residential resort applications. All questions are to be directed to Sask Energy.
PERMITS REQUIRED
Please take note that permits are required for almost everything done within the Village whether it be building or excavating. Please check with the office before beginning any construction projects to get all the necessary paperwork and approvals in place first. There may be some cases where it is not needed but we would prefer to have the heads up about it. This will also eliminate neighbors and council members asking if a permit is in place when they see construction taking place. Everything must go to a council meeting for approval which are held monthly so please plan ahead well in advance of your project start date. No approvals will be given prior to a meeting and there may be fines implemented for not complying and starting without an approval first.
ROAD WORK
Cypress Paving will be working on widening parts of Tatanka Drive this week. Please drive with caution.
Fire Restriction Lifted
Due to the amount of rainfall this past week, we have lifted the fire restriction. We still ask that you be responsible when having outdoor fires. Always be in attendance, and always have a water source readily available. Thank you and be safe.
Beaches/playgrounds open
Beaches and playgrounds are once again open to the public according to phase 3 of the re-open Saskatchewan plan. Please visit www.saskatchewan.ca regarding the current public health guidelines. Please also note that the beaches and playgrounds are unstaffed so it is recommended that you sanitize before and after use and use at your own risk.
